Where Stake.com sits for Nigeria bettors
Stake is a large crypto first casino and sportsbook with unusually good product documentation and an unusually weak licensing position, and the second point should govern how much money you keep on the site.
The operator of stake.com and stake.bet is Medium Rare N.V., a Curacao company registered under number 145353, and the licence number it publishes, OGL/2024/1451/0918, is real: it appears on the Curacao Gaming Authority OGL licence register dated 20 August 2026 against Medium Rare N.V. as a B2C licence.
The problem is what the same register row says next to it. Issued 9 December 2025, expires 9 June 2026, status "Assessment in progress".
At the date checked, 22 August 2026, the stated expiry is more than two months in the past and the regulator adds its own disclaimer that its overviews do not guarantee the current validity of the licences listed. That is not a straightforwardly licensed operator. It is an operator whose renewal is unresolved on the public record.
The independent reputation position is middling rather than bad. Trustpilot showed a TrustScore of 4.0 from 17,792 reviews on the stake.com Trustpilot profile at 22 August 2026, with 6,088 of those reviews posted in the preceding twelve months, and the profile is flagged as asking customers for reviews.
Medium Rare N.V. does not appear in the Curacao enforcement register dated 10 July 2026.
The single biggest strength is the crypto cashier and the published limit tables. Withdrawal minimums and flat fees are stated coin by coin, for example 2.50 USDT minimum with a 1.00 USDT fee, and there is no maximum withdrawal on crypto at all, per the crypto withdrawal limits article.
