What the promotion is actually worth

The code and the documented offer are two different things at Stake, so begin with where each one comes from. MAXBET is not printed anywhere on a page Stake itself controls.

It circulates on third party code listings, and those listings do not even agree with one another, with one of them attaching a different code to the American sweepstakes property.

The same applies to the much repeated headline of a 200 percent match worth up to 3,000 USD: no Stake page states a match percentage, a cash cap or a qualifying deposit for a welcome bonus at all. Treat that headline as marketing copy written by people who do not run the cashier.

What Stake documents is smaller and, unusually, easier to value. The welcome offer article says the reward for entering a valid affiliate or referral code is immediate access to rakeback, a benefit that otherwise arrives only once you reach Bronze in the VIP club. Stake names no particular code.

The entry window is hard: the code goes in on the offers page inside 24 hours of the account being opened, and after that it cannot be applied. The benefit is 3.5 percent of the house edge on everything you play.

The maths, using Stake's own inputs

Rakeback is a rebate on theoretical loss, not a percentage of turnover, which is why the numbers are modest. Stake's rakeback article works it through as 1 BTC staked on a game carrying a 2 percent edge returning 0.0007 BTC. Apply the same arithmetic in cash.

Stake 5,000 USD on that 2 percent game and the theoretical loss is 100 USD, of which 3.5 percent, or 3.50 USD, comes back. On the sportsbook the calculation uses a default 3 percent house edge, so 5,000 USD of settled stakes produces a theoretical value of 150 USD and a rebate of 5.25 USD.

Poker pays 3.5 percent of rake instead. Voided bets and bets you cash out earn nothing. Without any code, the same tap opens at 10,000 USD wagered, which is the Bronze threshold in the published VIP level table.

The clauses that cut the value

• Deposit bonuses, where they are granted, carry a turnover multiplier applied to deposit plus bonus together, and Stake will not publish a standard figure, saying only that it depends on your affiliation and the bonus type. The figures quoted around the affiliate layer, 35x and 40x, are unverified.
• Stake's illustration in the deposit bonus requirement article is 100 USD deposited plus 100 USD granted at 30x, which is 6,000 USD of wagering on a game with a 4 percent edge. Take those two numbers together: 6,000 USD cycled at a 4 percent edge has an expected cost of 240 USD, against a 100 USD bonus. On the operator's own worked example the requirement costs more in expectation than the bonus is worth.
• The requirement cannot be cancelled. You either finish it or run the bonus and the deposit balance to zero, per the same article and the separate deposit bonus requirements policy.
• Clause 12.10 of the terms of service voids bonuses after 60 days.
• Separately from any bonus, 100 percent of each deposit must be wagered before a withdrawal is possible, per the wager requirement article.

So what does an ordinary player actually collect? Enter a referral code within the first day and you get a small cash rebate that pays win or lose and has no wagering attached, worth single figures in dollars for every few thousand staked. You do not get a documented 3,000 USD match, because no such thing is published.

The recurring promotions are real and separately documented: a weekly raffle described as 50K or 75K USD, in which each 1,000 USD staked earns a single ticket; a 100K USD race distributing prizes to the leading 5,000 players once every 24 hours; a monthly bonus; and a Saturday boost posted to a VIP Telegram group, per the promotions article. Those reward volume, not registration.
